Velsan® SC can help to increase the viscosity of a formulation and it can act as an emulsifier.
Velsan® SC assists the efficacy of preserving agents in a synergistic manner. Lower use concentrations of preserving agents can be used without lowering the efficacy.
Application
Velsan® SC itself shows some efficacy against microorganisms. The recommended use level of Velsan® SC is normally in the range of 0.5 - 2.0 % based on the total weight of the finished product. Velsan® SC is a nonsensitizing, non-irritating antimicrobial auxiliary. Additionally, Velsan® SC can help to increase the viscosity of shampoo formulations enabling to lower the amount of Sodium Chloride. This leads to less eye-irritating shampoo formulations, ideal for baby shampoos with claim: no tear.
